Gadget oh Gadget…

These days we are all aware that there are so many ways to communicate with our friend, family and others. Yup, I am definitely sure that those who are lives in this big city know YM, facebook, twitter and all. Well, I am talking about teenagers and middle age people. Probably there is little number of people who have never used these technologies, but they must have heard about this, at least.

technlogyWhat I am trying to tell is, all of that technology helps people to communicate to each other but what happen to traditional communication? I mean talking face to face, has it just gone? Have you ever thought that actually traditional communication has more meaning? Not just to say something, but also can show your expression (your face tells the truth) and the most important thing is by communicating face to face you can share the happiness to other.

For instance, if you live separately with your parent, you can imagine how miss our parent to be visited, not just says hi thru the phone. Or, can you imagine a husband and wife who are working at day times, they just meet in the evening and since they want to keep in touch with their friends, they use that evening time instead to chat with their friends thru cell phones and missed their family time.

In my opinion, the picture try to remind us (in a sarcastic mode, i guess :D ). The man is having holiday at the beach but he still use all the gadgets. Where is the “holiday”? Or, in my situation..I am trying to say whether we still need our gadget at family time? You may have your own opinion about this. At one point technology helps people a lot, but what will happen if we use it not in a proper time? I finally write this post after I realized that I am in the group of people who almost forgot about traditional communication and use my gadget most of the time. Bad daddy ;)

Lastly, can you imagine later in the future when you have children, you asked your children to have a regular  family dinner and then they replied “Wait, i am tweeting” or “Wait, i am updating my status on facebook”. Are you ready with this??? We should “educate” technology NOT technology “educate” us. (weiitss..cool huh :D )

Here is my problem with the so called traditional communication: I cannot use emoticons or smileys to convey my real emotions !! So I choose the nontraditional method ^^

Hahahaha… I’d have to say I’m very traditional IT teacher. My students keep asking me, “when are you gonna get a BB miss?” And I say, I barely even use my current phone, why buy a more expensive one and leave it lying around?? ;-)

Yup…true, true, true (ipin upin mode on) :D

The 1st week I had my BB, I played around until I felt distracted with all the pop up and notifications. Now, the BB is only for texting and calls, no more YM-ing, FB-ing, and Tweeting. ;-) (Unless I got bored)
